Statement: During my time at the IAS I will be working on Medieval Long-Walls of the Mongolian Steppe. Those walls that were built between the 11th and the 13th centuries. The walls cover a distance of over 3,500 km but it is unclear who built them and for what purpose. My work will combine archaeologic, historic and paleoclimatic data.
